EUROPEAN UNION: NEW FOOD LABELING RULES |
The European Parliament has approved the new rules on labeling of foods in the European Union on 6 July 2011. The label must be clearly readable to allow the energy value and amount of fat, saturated fat, salt, sugar, protein and carbohydrates, as well as allergy information. The origin marking is extended with a number of products such as fresh meat of pigs, chickens, goats and sheep. Source: www.agentschap.nl
